Srinagar, Mar 05 (KNO): The Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Anshul Garg, on Thursday chaired a meeting to review finalization of Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) for parking sites, roads and bridges, besides identifying black spots to ensure smooth traffic movement and decongestion of Srinagar. The meeting was attended by the Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, CEO of Srinagar Smart City Limited (SSCL), SSP Traffic Srinagar, RTO Kashmir, and officers from the Roads & Buildings (R&B) Department, Srinagar Development Authority (SDA) and National Highways Authority of India (NHAI). Addressing the officers, the Divisional Commissioner directed all departments to submit reports on developmental projects related to roads, bridges and parking areas, including details of approved works, proposals under submission and new project proposals. He also instructed the departments to submit a report on traffic black spots and bottlenecks along with proposed interventions by Monday. The CEO of Srinagar Smart City Limited was directed to rationalize e-bus routes, ensure adherence to time schedules and designate proper bus stops. The R&B Department and Border Roads Organisation (BEACON) were asked to submit a report regarding the closure of crossings along the National Highway from Parimpora to Narbal. The Divisional Commissioner also urged SSP Traffic to ensure optimum utilization of ITMS cameras for effective enforcement of traffic regulations and generation of challans. Further, the CEO SSCL was directed to ensure painting of stop lines and marking of zebra crossings on roads. The Divisional Commissioner instructed that work on the IT-based car parking be completed by March 31. The R&B Department was also directed to submit a report identifying bridges requiring intervention to facilitate inland waterway transport on the Jhelum River—(KNO)
